Mildred has lived in a nursing home for the past six months, following the death of her husband who was her caregiver. Mildred has Alzheimer’s Disease and needs care. Her daughter was in charge of Mildred’s money. She was supposed to pay for her care at the nursing home. Unfortunately, the daughter was using the money to pay for her own personal items. She was not paying for Mildred’s care at the nursing home. The facility staff contacted our office for help because they did not want to evict Mildred. We were able to work with law enforcement to stop Mildred’s daughter from using the money. Other family members are now taking care of Mildred’s bills.
